July Challenge Winners

1. “Safe” by LivesAmongTheStars

This story is haunting and beautiful. The author’s use of language, punctuation and description paints a vivid picture. Reading this story, you don’t just hear about the experiences of a newborn vampire — you experience them, yourself. They are your experiences. And as you read more — and learn more about the narrator — you’ll find yourself even more hooked.

2. “There’s a First Time for Everything” by mveritym

In New Moon, Alice forsaw Gianna’s death. But what if Alice was wrong? What if her vision changed, and Gianna got her wish to become a vampire with the Volturi? This is her story and it is incredibly well-written and insightful. This was, perhaps, one of the most unique stories we received and that is one of the reasons it stood out — it was different, and I mean that in a very good way.

3. “New Blood” by Elissa

This was one of the most well-written stories we receieved. Spelling and grammar are excellent, but the story is also very well developed. This author clearly thought things through before putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and it shows. It’s the story of a young woman’s murder and her rebirth as something other than human and it will leave you with chills.
