Fire damages View Point Inn, location of “Twilight” prom shoot

breaking-news21

An overnight fire seriously damaged the View Point Inn, in Corbett, Oregon — the location where the “Twilight” movie prom scene was filmed earlier this year.

Fox 12 in Portland reports:

CORBETT, Ore. — Investigators are seeking the cause of a fire that damaged the View Point Inn in Corbett.

The historic building caught fire late Sunday night. Officials said the fire was in the walls of the inn and that the kitchen, basement and a second-floor room were damaged.

The owner of the inn said the fire came at a bad time.

“(It’s) very disheartening to see the damage like this. We’re working day by day just to keep this place going, to keep the business going,” said co-owner Angelo Simione. “Small business has been hurt pretty badly, so this fire is the last thing we needed.”

The View Point Inn, located 22 miles outside of Portland in the Columbia River Gorge, was recently used as a setting in the recent movie “Twilight.”

It’s also on the National Register of Historic Places.

  2. We should start some sort of fundraiser for them! Not just because of Twilight, but also because it’s such a beautiful place, and a historic site. :)

  3. This is very up-to-date info. I’ll share it on Facebook.
