October Challenge!

Here it is — the October Fan Fiction Challenge! Based on feedback from some writers, this month’s challenge will be a bit more random — giving you the freedom to get creative!

For October, write a story incorporating all of the following elements:

* Some reference to “Trick or Treat” or “Trick or Treating

* Someone must make some mention of Dracula

* Eating candy

The story must include a character or characters from the Twilight universe, but anyone is fair game – vampires, werewolves & humans.

The story can take place at any point in time (before Twilight, after Breaking Dawn or during any of the books) – but it must fit into canon.

Here are the other rules & guidelines:

* Stories must be PG-13 (or lower)

* Please use proper grammar and good spelling. If you are not sure, ask someone to proofread your story before submitting it to us. We cannot accept stories with frequent grammar/spelling mistakes.

* Stories should be at least 500 words long.

* Please attach your stories as a Word document (.doc) or a plain text document (.txt)

* With your story, please include a title and your author’s name.

* You may submit more than one story for a challenge, but only one of your stories will be able to win.

Please send all stories to: sara.novelnovice@comcast.net

The deadline to submit stories is Tuesday, October 28th by midnight (PST).

We hope to have all of the winning submissions chosen and posted by Halloween night!

You can see our past challenge winners and get more details here or by clicking the “Fan Creations” tab at the top of this page.

(Please note: we have not chosen the September winners yet; we are still reviewing all the entries we recieved. But we wanted to give you the chance to get started this weekend on the October challenge. Look for the September challenge winners very soon!)

    Great job creating the challenge.

  3. Awesome Challenge! I’m totally doing it!! I have a question; does it have to be PG13? Or can it be less than that, like G or PG, because i don’t think my writing for this story will be PG13 material exactly…

    Thanks,

    Naiha

  4. No, it can be G or PG — we just don’t want anything racier than PG-13, since we do have some younger readers. I guess I should clarify that in the rules …
